    There are now various different ways in which music channels can be consumed. whether it be through TV, internet and through social networking websites.Some music and film’s merge together through the soundtrack they use, this is what you call synergy. MTV today
    Music channels now no longer just play music videos. MTV and the various programmes now have shows such as 'Catfish' and 'jersey shore'. This is utilised for the purpose of appealing to a wider audience as they already have various genre channels, they have now created shows for different peoples interests weather its something they can relate to or simply glamourise on.

    Catfish: the tv show

    Jersey shore

    The grime genre is vastly unrepresented as its only been around for a shorter time compared to other genres however its fair to say that its not popular enough to have its own subordinate such as 'mtv rocks' etc. Some A class grime Artist however such as Wiley, lethal bizzle and skepta have their top songs played on hip hop channels even though the genre originates from garage but because it has such an urban appeal, its displayed there.

    personally when i make my music video i would prefer to put it out on Mtv Base as i would want to go under the hip hop/trap genre there for by placing on this channels would result in the video have the right audience making it more of a successful video with more views

    1. Proficient research into the different music channels today. Good that you have looked at under-representation and why you think MTV has so many sister channels.

      To improve;
      -In your intro, think about some radio stations that have channels and why you think this is so
      -in underrepresentation, do you think it has to do with content and genre?
      -proof read please, some grammatical errors
      -just MTV base, or any other channels? mention in your conclusion
